Breaking from WCME: Kristina Egan Leaves Freeport Council

Two-term Freeport town councilor Kristina Egan says she’s leaving the council in June to accept a new position as executive director of the Greater Portland Council of Governments, an organization made up of 26 member communities, including Freeport, which disburses funds to those member communities. Egan says a conflict of interest would prevent her from continuing to serve on the council.

Egan has represented the third council district in south Freeport, and says she’s proud that the municipal tax rate has remained stable during her years of council service. She also says roads have become safer and the schools stronger.
