Breaking from WCME News 9: Peeping Tom Charged in Brunswick

In Brunswick, the arrest of a suspected peeping tom. 55-year-old Steven McIntire of Bath, a convicted sex offender, is charged in six such incidents last fall in the Bowdoin College neighborhood. Police say the charges are based on “non-consensual videos of adults inside their residences that were captured through the windows.

Some residences were off-campus and some were on campus. McIntire, who is being held at the regional jail in Wiscasset, is well-known to local police agencies. He was arrested in Bath last November after allegedly breaking into a house where a young woman came home to find him on her couch exposing himself. And he’s also been named as a person of interest in a sexual assault last November on Belmont Street in Brunswick. That incident remains under investigation.

McIntire was a member of a support group for convicted sex offenders that had been meeting at First Parish Church near the campus–until the group was told to meet elsewhere following the sexual assault.
