Breaking News: Brunswick’s Next Town Councilor

It’s only September 8, but we already know the name of Brunswick’s next at-large town councilor.

In January, community activist Alison Harris will replace John Richardson, who is leaving the council. Harris is the only one of two potential candidates to be certified as having gained the required 100 valid petition signatures to qualify for a ballot position. Another town resident, Dan Ford, failed to secure the required signature total.

In 2013, Harris lost a a hard-fought battle for the sixth district council seat in Brunswick’s downtown area by a margin of just 18 votes to local realtor Jane Millett.
