Breaking News: Trucker Charged on I-295

Update from WCME News 9:

State police are still asking us to avoid northbound Interstate 295 in the Richmond area while they work to remove the burned-out tractor trailer from the median this afternoon, with traffic reduced once again to one lane.

The cruiser , with its blue lights on, was in the breakdown lane. Trooper Greg Stevens had just checked on another tractor trailer that had been stopped along the road. Moments after Stevens returned to his cruiser and after that tractor trailer had merged back into traffic, the cruiser was struck from behind.

Stevens, a 17 year State Police veteran, is being treated at Maine Medical Center for broken ribs and neck and leg injuries.
