Breaking on WCME: Wind Gusts Bring On Power Outages

If your electric power is out you are not alone on the Midcoast. Wind gusts as high as 50 miles an hour have caused tree limbs to come down–sometimes on power lines and traffic lights.

In all, 30,000 outages are reported. Over 2500 of those are in Freeport, with over 950 in Bowdoinham, over 900 outages in Dresden, more than 450 in Wiscasset, and 200 customers are outed in Harpswell. Over 150 more are outed in Durham, there are outages in Bowdoin, and while there have been just a few outages in Lisbon, there have been reports of malfunctioning traffic signals there.

Cross Point Road in Edgecomb has been closed for removal of downed utility wires.

Updates throughout the evening and on Monday’s Midcoast Morning Buzz on Radio 9 WCME. 900AM and Radio9WCME.com
