Cumberland County District Attorney Jackie Sartoris in the Aftermath of Victory on the WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz

You will hear in this segment of the WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, both light and serious moments with Jackie, who has just staged a convincing win over her challenger Valerie Adams, a former prosecutor in the district attorney’s office, by a margin of 56-44 percent.

Jackie engaged in some striking analysis here. Adams had worked in the office for only about nine months before deciding to wage the primary challenge, and Jackie says “there is a lot of circumstantial evidence to indicate that my opponent actually coming into my office in order to run.”

Sartoris notes that former longtime district attorney Stephanie Anderson, who supported Adams, changed her voter registration from Republican to Independent in mid-2024. Adams later applied for work in the office, and Sartoris says she has been told by colleagues that Adams had “always intended to run.”

Sartoris will now face a November challenge from Anderson, who had said that if Adams won the primary, she would leave the race. We hope to soon be talking to Anderson on the WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz.
