Jim Bleikamp here, after spending some time today on the WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz with Maine’s former director of Center for Disease Control, who went on to do similar work at the federal level and is now back in Maine considering a run for governor.
It occurs to me that Dr. Shah may have a unique advantage in this race, because it’s clear from numerous posts on our WCME Facebook page that many regard him as a life-saver, after his high-profile work during the pandemic.
Many political figures can lay claim to important work–few however are seen as life-savers.
