Jim Bleikamp here.
I knew in advance of today’s Buzz that I would be talking to a fine former Red Sox hitter in Bernie Carbo–after all Bernie is the man who popped a three-run homer 51 years ago TODAY in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series–a game that tied that series with the Cincinnati Reds, who would go on to win the seventh and deciding game.
I also knew that Bernie hit that homer while he was addicted to alcohol and just about every drug in the book, and had a major personal transformation after his playing days.
However, I did not know that I would be talking to a stellar comedian and that I would be laughin’ so much.
Bernie should be doing stand-up somewhere.
Bernie on the Buzz.
Right here.
