Brunswick Police Chief Scott Stewart on Security Concerns with Regard to Winter Homelessness

About This Project

After warning in April of public safety concerns in the aftermath of an infllux of homeless peopole from out-of-town and out-of-state at the warming center in the downtown area, on today’s WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, Brunswick Police Chief Scott Stewart credited Tedford Housing, Brunswick’s homeless services agency, with “great strides” in addressing the issue.

Tedford Executive Director Andrew Lardie has listed plans for “tighter alignment among the agencies involved in Warming Center operations in regard to enforcement of campus rules, and the institution of a hard cap of 30 people per night and information sharing and coordination with adjacent homeless centers to find accommodations for people turned away in Brunswick.
