Every two years, the Department of Administrative and Financial Services issues a report to start the new two-year, state budget process. This report “projects” a billion dollar gap between revenues and expenditures. Sometimes such projections have been close to the mark and sometimes not at all. It’s an uncertain world in which we live.
In a letter accompanying the report, Commissioner Elaine Clark cautions that “this report should not be considered an accurate reflection of an actual budget shortfall facing state government.”
More on all this from Brunswick State Representative Dan Ankeles on today’s WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz.
