This month of April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month, and as is the case in Bath, Brunswick Police will be conducting focused traffic details to enforce the state’s laws regarding cell phone use while driving.
On today’s WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, Brunswick Police Chief Scott Stewart said that last year 40 percent of all traffic fatalities involved some sort of distracted driving. The chief says this month’s increased enforcement is made possible by a grant from the Bureau of Highway Safety.
