The Valentines Day Wastewater Tour on the WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz

About This Project

Jim Bleikamp here.

Let’s face it–the subject of wastewater is not exactly a natural for a radio show in the morning when many people listen while having breakfast.

But I felt to give some attention to the most unusual Valentine’s Day observance of all on the Midcoast–the Valentine’s Day tour of the wastewater treatment plant in Bath at 9 and 1030 on Saturday morning. And because those tours are sell-outs (they are actually free), they added a third tour at Noon.

In order to accommodate all the folks who apparently wish to smell something other than roses on V-Day.

But in the process of this interview with Bath Wastewater Superintendent Bryan Levitt, not only did we preview the tour, but we learned some very interesting stuff about wastewater and the Bath wastewater operation in particular.

And we also got some important tips on what NOT to send swimming into the system. In particular, no golf balls please!
